Navidi's French Toast with Balsamic Poached Pears


• 6 slices stale or dry bread, any kind 

• 4 eggs

• 2/3 cup half & half (can also use whole milk instead)

• 3 Tablespoons vanilla

• 1/4 teaspoon salt

• butter

• 2 medium pears

• Navidi's Cinnamon-Pear Balsamic

• 1 cinnamon stick plus ground cinnamon

•  6 Tablespoons Greek yogurt 

Directions: Start by peeling pears and slicing in half.  Put in small saucepan and cover with equal parts Navidi's Cinnamon Pear Balsamic and water.  Add 1 Tablespoon vanilla and 1 cinnamon stick to liquid.  Cook over low heat until pears are tender. Remove pears.  Continue to cook poaching liquid over low heat until it becomes a thicker sauce.  Meanwhile, whisk together eggs, the rest of the vanilla, salt, and half & half.  Dip sliced bread in egg mixture until well coated but not soggy.  Melt butter in skillet.  Add bread slices and cook on one side until golden brown.  Flip and repeat.  Slice pears into 1/4" slices.  Place French toast on plate, top with sliced pears and Greek yogurt (approx. 1 Tablespoon per slice).  Spoon reduction over top and dust with a little ground cinnamon.  Enjoy!
